Wood Panels

Discover the beauty and versatility of birch and wood painting panels, a durable and reliable alternative to traditional stretched canvas.

Offering a smooth, rigid surface, wood panels are ideal for artists who enjoy precision, texture, layering, and mixed-media techniques. Whether you're working with acrylics, oils, encaustic, or cold wax, these panels provide a sturdy foundation for your creative expression.

Their natural wood surface can be left visible, stained, or prepared with an appropriate ground to suit your preferred medium and painting style.

Features & Benefits:

• Strong & Durable: Rigid surfaces that resist flexing and provide excellent support for detailed artwork.

• Versatile: Suitable for acrylics, oils, cold wax, encaustic, collage, and mixed media with appropriate preparation.

• Excellent for Texture: Perfect for palette knives, scraping, layering, and building dimensional effects.

• Natural Wood Beauty: The attractive grain can become part of your artistic composition.

• Professional Presentation: Cradled panels offer a contemporary look and can often be displayed without traditional framing.

Ideal For:

• Acrylic and oil painting

• Cold wax and encaustic techniques

• Mixed-media artwork and collage

• Palette knife and textured painting

• Fine detail and illustrative work

• Experimental and contemporary art

Artist's Tip: Choose your surface preparation according to your medium. Acrylics and oils generally require an appropriate primer or ground, while traditional encaustic works beautifully on raw, absorbent wood or panels prepared with encaustic gesso. For cold wax and oil painting, a properly prepared rigid panel provides excellent support.

Create with confidence on a surface as versatile as your imagination!
